I’m Sarah!

I’m a designer, engineer, and creative director currently focused on cultivating new ecologies of making. I’m developing products alongside workshops and collaborative research to explore how we design, produce, and relate to material goods.

I had an “aha” moment while doing freelance work on bras, when I realized I’m drawn to design that isn’t just functional, but holds emotional and social complexity as well. Looking back, this thread was already there — my younger self had even published an article titled Rethinking Technocentrism.

Over the years, particularly in fashion and soft goods, I’ve learned the limits of material substitution or purely technical solutions for sustainability and distributed production. I became increasingly interested in the ecosystems around making, from how raw materials are produced, to the relationships between the people who make and those who use what’s made.

My background spans leading large-scale design and manufacturing efforts, including the 4D initiative between Carbon and Adidas, advising on production and bio-based materials for companies like Nike, and conducting research and concept development on bras for all ages and stages with Audrey Reilly, former Lululemon creative director and creative lead for Nike’s Jordan brand during its formative years.

I’ve also collaborated with amazing artists on community-based initiatives, including Hector Zamora, Assia Boundaoui, Yucef Merhi, Michel Rojkind, and Rob Woodcox. Much of this work centers on making the invisible visible, and on reclaiming and reinventing narrative and identity.
